Nearly 80% of the cost for an IT Asset over its useful life resides in the services and support rendered to that asset or the user of that asset. Only 19% of the cost is related to software and hardware acquisition. Hence the opportunity for GlobalServe to offer IT lifecycle services to our procurement customers is significant and a natural extension of what we offer in Procurement Management. As the central purchasing point for all IT assets through our Procurement Management offering GlobalServe becomes the defacto record of inventory for all assets procured through or outside of our systems. This enables us to not only capture data around an acquired asset, but more importantly serves as a starting point where services rendered to an asset can be effectively triaged through our OneSource IT Lifecycle Management solution.
The GlobalServe IT Lifecycle Management solution is a combination of three key modules: GlobalServe Information Technology Services ("ITS"), GlobalServe Asset & License Management ("AM") and GlobalServe Green. Each module covers key elements of IT lifecycle services. The ITS module is focused around service transactions such as break fix, help desk, IMAC, smart hands and network support. GlobalServe AM is geared to manage and maintain assets including software license management. This is the only offering within OneSource that requires a client-side implementation of an agent that helps manage and report against an organizations asset base. Finally, GlobalServe Green enables our customers to safely and lawfully dispose of all IT assets. It is through the combination of Procurement Management and IT Lifecycle Management that GlobalServe enables its customers to address the complete IT Lifecycle Management of their asset base, from acquisition (or ‘birth) to disposal (or ‘death’). | |
